What is a Gong Bath

A gong bath is a form of sound healing meditation. It is referred to as a bath due to participants being immersed in the vibrations of the gong during a session.

When something within us is out of tune such as stress, anxiety, depression, anger, trauma in our daily lives, this may negatively impact us which can then manifest on a physical, emotional, or mental  level. The vibrations produced in a gong bath help to “tune” your body and therefore aid in restoring harmony and resonance throughout.

Gong baths are highly rejuvenating for the body and bring about an overall sense of relaxation, which can reduce stress as well as help develop a better ability to cope with stress, help move emotional blockages from trauma, and even stimulate altered states of consciousness.

The powerful vibrations of the gong help to release tension, stimulate the glandular and nervous system, and increase prana, our vital life force.

What to expect during a session

During a Gong Bath session, you will lie comfortably on a mat with a blanket and pillow. The session begins with a brief introduction and some gentle breathing exercises to help you relax. The gong is then played for about 45-60 minutes, allowing the sound waves to wash over you. The session ends with a period of silence to integrate the experience.
